We are following the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) model curriculum and will apply to ISACA to be listed during our first four years of operations. Some of our coursework will also use ISACA best practices.
Many information systems auditors have certification covered in our program. At the end of the program we deliver a 2-day course to review the required material for the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exam and cover ISACA's Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (COBIT) in the program. Many students will write the COBIT exam during the program.
The need for information systems and security professionals is growing along with increasing reliance on e-business, best practices and value creation. The employer demand for information systems security professionals shows no end in sight. With the help of the Information Systems Security Advisory Committee, our programs maintain a sharp focus on the needs of employers and changes in industry. Make information security and assurance your choice and join a growing field.
For new full-time students to the program, the program includes a laptop computer to keep, office software and a preparation course to prepare students to write the exam for the designation of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Please note it is the responsibility of the student to register and pay for the actual exam. Contact the Program Director for further details. CISA exams are offered by ISACA in Edmonton twice per year and CISSP exams often once per year. Our MISAM program also prepares students for other exams such as the CISM and COBIT exams (also offered by ISACA).
